ANC punished for being arrogant – Malema

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema says the African National Congress (ANC) should brace itself for a tough challenge in the next general elections in 2019.

He was briefing the media at Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) Results Operations Centre in Pretoria on Friday.

The EFF has emerged as the third strongest party with 95% of votes declared so far.

Malema says the ruling party has been punished throughout the election period because of its arrogance. He says the EFF is the only party that has succeeded in humbling the ANC.

“The ANC has been punished throughout the campaign; I said we must humble the ANC. The ANC is arrogant and I have given myself a personal task to ensure that in my life time, I want to see the ANC out of power. There is no contract between the politicians and the voter till death do us part. Our marriage depends on your ability to deliver. We want a government which is a blesser to the poor.”
