Limpopo residents call for parties to agree on coalitions

Residents at two hung local municipalities in Limpopo say opposition parties need to agree on coalitions to prove that they can provide good governance.
The African National Congress (ANC) in Limpopo needs to form coalitions to retain Thabazimbi and Mokgopoong-Modimolle in the Waterberg District. Residents say opposition parties need to use the chance to prove themselves in governance.
“All the opposition parties will be better if they work together; when they work together all parties will have the shares on decision-making with regard to most valuable issues within the municipality,” says one resident.
Political Analyst Elvis Masoga says the ANC is compelled to seek collaboration with any party.
“The ANC, EFF, DA and Freedom Front Plus these are different political parties that pursue different political ideologies, obviously even if they agree to form a coalition they must agree that the coalition to govern in those municipalities will be based on the unholy alliance because there is no way the ANC, EFF, DA and Freedom Front Plus can sing from the same hand-book. The ANC as a leading party in those municipalities is compelled to seek collaboration with the other parties.”
