The Congress of South African Trade Unions has commended the millions of workers and communities that came out to vote for the African National Congress (ANC) in the 2016 Local Government Elections.
This is despite the ruling party’s loss at Tshwane metro, Nelson Mandela Bay and Midvaal.
The trade union says it applauds the sterling work that was done by all those workers, activists and volunteers, who put in long hours and canvassed for votes in all corners of the country for the ANC.
It also sent accolades to the IEC for its sterling work and for making the country’s democracy stronger in the manner in which they conducted last week’s elections.
Voters in Ekurhuleni have expressed joy at the ANC’s victory after Local Government Elections. They say they could not punish the party because of an individual.
