ANC’s struggle credentials no excuse for arrogance: Mashilo

The African National Congress (ANC) assumes that its struggle credentials will forever act as an excuse for arrogance. This is according to the South African Communist Party (SACP) National spokesperson Alex Mashilo

Mashilo’s statement comes on the back of the ANC losing support in the Local Government Elections.

Speaking on AM Live, Mashilo says it is important they recognize that voters answers from the ruling party.

“When we go to them we must present a convincing argument in the form of a programme that we will implement if they vote for the African National Congress. Yes we fought for the liberation of this country and that is the service that we gave at the time, corresponding to the conditions that prevailed during that phase of oppression. It is important to recognise that we are in a phase where we are moving forward.” says Mashilo.

Mashilo says based on the party’s struggle credentials, it must build capacity to deliver to the people, answering the pressing questions of high levels of inequality, unemployment and build of a better future.
