Suspended National Freedom Party (NFP) Treasurer General, Xolani Ndlovu has threatened legal action against party leaders who accuse him of having been bribed to sabotage the party and prevent it from contesting the August municipal elections.
Ndlovu did not pay the required R59 000 deposit fee to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) before the closing date, resulting in the disqualification of the party.
Ndlovu has been lying low, saying he fears for his life.
He says he has now decided to go to court to clear his name.
“It is utter lies that I was bribed by the IFP to sabotage the NFP not to go to the elections, hence I have taken a decision to go to court to try and get these people to retract all of these statements because they are very defamatory. And I want them to clear my name because the public knows Xolani Ndlovu as somebody who has received a bribe which is utter lies,” says Ndlovu.
