Top 5 nationalities migrating to South Africa

Immigration to South Africa decreased by 300 000 from 1.5 million in 2011 to 1.2 million in 2016. Gauteng and the Western Cape still record the highest number of foreign-born nationals.
According to the 2016 Community Survey released on Thursday evening, the reason for this decrease could be sue to foreign born nationals not reporting their status in country.
In terms of internal migration of foreign born nationals, Limpopo and the Eastern Cape recorded the highest number of out-migrants, followed by the Northern Cape. Migrants from the Northern and Eastern Cape mostly moved to Western Cape.
