Political analyst Mandlenkosi Mthombeni says new emerging political organisations will find it difficult to attract voters.
Mthombeni has given the example of political organisations such as the Heavenly Economic and Political Freedom Programme and All Unemployed Labour Alliance which will compete with parties such as ANC, DA, IFP and UDM.
He says these parties have their own identities and have a great support.
Mthombeni says new political organisations have to go an extra mile to convince voters and do miracles to get seats in municipal councils.
Meanwhile, the Independent Electoral Commission in KwaZulu-Natal says it has recruited about 15 000 electoral personnel who will be deployed at voter registration venues.
Commissioner Mawethu Mosery says there will be two voter registration weekends nationwide – on the 5th and 6th of March and 9th and 10th of April.
He says it’s all systems go for the voter registration week.
Mosery says they are expecting around 400 000 first time voters to register.
