EFF likely to be the kingmaker in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro

The ANC’s ambitions to retain the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro hang in the balance. With 79% of the votes counted in the metro, the DA was leading at 50.13% of the votes with the ANC trailing at 39.07%. The EFF is currently third at 4.78% .
If the DA maintains the lead they will wrestle the much-fought-for metro from the ANC.
However, with the outstanding votes remaining to be counted, the picture could still change.
But, the EFF could most likely be the kingmaker should the DA’s support drop below the 50% mark.
Meanwhile, the ANC’s Andile Lungisa says his party is satisfied with the results that have been released in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro so far.
“We are happy in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro. Currently, we have 32 wards, but now we have won another four wards which is now sitting at 36. We have taken Ward 31 from the DA; we have won Ward 29, which was from the DA; we have won Ward 30 from the UDM; we have won Ward 42 which is also a big field. So, we are still waiting from our own strong constituencies.”
