Fransman vows to fight for fair DC procedures

Marius Fransman has vowed to fight for what he terms fair disciplinary procedures.

He has approached the Western Cape High Court after the African National Congress (ANC) said he was suspended as the provincial party leader and must face a disciplinary committee.

Last Thursday, ANC election head Nomvula Mokonyane said last that Fransman was back in his job as he was campaigning with President Jacob Zuma on the Cape Flats.

However, party spokesperson Zizi Kodwa now says Fransman still faces a disciplinary committee on charges that he sexually assaulted a 21-year-old woman in January.

“Given the seriousness of the allegations, Marius is not reinstated at the leader of the ANC in the Western Cape. He’s not expected to resume his duties because there are internal disciplinary processes that are under way.”
