EFF campaigns in E Cape villages as elections near

With just a week remaining until the local government elections, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) National Chairperson, Dali Mpofutook the party’s campaign to villages in the Eastern Cape.

Speaking during the campaign, Mpofu said his party is not only looking for votes in the urban areas, but will also garner support in rural areas.

Wet and cold conditions did very little to dampen their spirits as they braved the elements to spread their party’s message.

“We’ve taken a deliberate decision not to only concentrate in urban areas and the townships but to come down here to the rural areas and hear issues from out people. They have land but are not given support to deal with the land,” says Mpofu.

The poor state of roads, the irregular supply and sometimes lack of water and electricity were some of the main concerns.

“We only need five years of their trust and if we betray it, they must replace us. The feedback we are getting is that our people are eager to try this organisation out.”
