DA lays charges against Radebe

The Democratic Alliance (DA) has laid criminal charges against African National Congress (ANC) NEC member and Minister in the Presidency, Jeff Radebe, in East London under the Schools Act.

Local DA leader Kevin Mileham accuses Radebe of illegally campaigning on school premises during school hours.

He alleges that Radebe entered and campaigned at Lumanyano Primary School in the Needs Camp in Buffalo City.

“Minister Radebe was campaigning for the ANC and during his campaigning he went to a primary school in that area and started campaigning in that primary school during school hours.”

Mileham adds: “So we laid charges in terms of the school’s act, together with the education act for party political campaigning during school hours on school premises which he is not permitted to do. Police have accepted the case and they are investigating it.”

The ANC is still to comment on the accusation against Radebe.
