Tight security at Phillip Plaza Mall ahead of Zuma visit

There is a tight security at Phillip Plaza Mall on the Cape Flats as President Jacob Zuma is expected to embark on a walk about in the mall campaigning for the African National Congress.

Security personnel are keeping a watchful eye on all vehicles entering the mall.

Zuma is in Cape Town on Thursday on an election campaign. The president will conduct door-to-door visits and also address a public meeting. The Cape Flats is one of the areas affected by gangsterism. The Democratic Alliance run area is one of the highly contested ahead of the municipal elections on 3 August.
