The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) is campaigning in traditionally African National Congress-dominated rural areas of Limpopo ahead of local government elections.
The party’s National Chairperson, Blessed Gwala conducted a door-to-door campaign at Madombidzha, Magau and Rathidili.
The campaign comes ahead of party leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi’s visit to Louis Trichardt next week.
Gwala says the IFP is expanding and is no longer confined to Zulu-speaking areas.
“The perception around the people is that the IFP belongs to KwaZulu and is run by the Zulus which is not true, the truth is that the IFP is a national organisation which is aimed to service the people of SA that is why when i took the office as the national chairperson of the IFP I decided to do it myself and go at every corner of our country just to make sure that the IFP is at every corner.”
