Vandalism of political posters and placards remains a problem, 20 days ahead of the municipal elections.
Posters, including those of the African National Congress and the Democratic Alliance, continue to be vandalised in some parts of Limpopo province.
In the Thohoyandou area, banners and posters bearing the face of President Jacob Zuma have been vandalised and some set alight.
In Ga-Sekororo outside Polokwane, people wearing ANC T-shirts were seen removing DA placards.
Meanwhile, in Bloemfontein in the Free State, the DA has laid criminal charges against the ANC for allegedly damaging DA election posters.
All political parties have a right to erect posters during the election period. Before any election, political parties sign a code of conduct committing themselves in ensuring that elections will be free and fair.
The Independent Electoral Commission has condemned the removal of election campaign posters and placards of political parties.
