African National Congress (ANC) Chairperson Baleka Mbete and Limpopo Chairperson Premier Stanley Mathabatha have been campaigning and distributing party T-shirts from as early as Tuesday morning at the Polokwane taxi rank.
The programme is part of a build up to the provincial ANC Siyanqoba rally to be held at the Peter Mokaba Stadium this weekend.
Mbete will also conduct door to door campaigns around Lebowakgomo and Seshego and during her week-long stay in the province.
During the past weekend, Mathabatha assured communities in Sekororo outside Tzaneen that their water challenges will be resolved in the next two years.
Mathabatha addressed hundreds of residents during the ANC’s election rally held at The Willows sports ground.
Many of them have complained that they are forced to fetch water from rivers.
Mathabatha urged them to vote for the ANC.
“We want to say to our people, please vote for us because we are the only party that has got a plan, that has got experience. Everyone has problems and we know them and can fix them. Your biggest problem in Sekororo is water and we as the ANC have developed a master plan. We will ensure that over a period of two years your water problems are resolved.”
A month ago, an Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) member was shot and injured at the Polokwane taxi rank while dishing out the party’s merchandise.
