Two injured following NFP protest

Two people have been injured after police used rubber bullets to disperse a large crowd of people clad in National Freedom Party (NFP) colours at uLundi in northern KwaZulu-Natal.

This comes a day after their party was ruled out of the local government elections next month.

The NFP supporters were barricading the entrance to uLundi.

Hundreds of people had gathered at M19 in uLundi, barricaded the R66 with burning tyres and huge logs.

About 20 people have been arrested for public violence.

Police personnel have been beefed up to monitor the situation.
