NFP holds urgent meeting on recent developments

An urgent meeting of the National Freedom Party’s (NFP) National Working Committee is underway in Durban, to discuss the recent developments in the party.

Members have called for decisive action to be taken against some of the leaders, who they accuse of sabotaging the party.

This week, the NFP was disqualified from contesting the local government elections.

On Friday, the party took the matter to the Electoral Court, which has reserved judgement.

The NFP failed to pay a deposit of R490 000 to the Independent Electoral Committee (IEC) on time. It claims this was as a result of an administrative error.

Leaders are currently plotting the way forward for this already fragile party.
