Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema has promised residents of Ga Masemola in Limpopo improved service delivery.
Malema, campaigning in the area, says residents of the village deserve better RDP houses and general improved services in areas of health and education.
Malema spoke with confidence as he promised scores of his party’s supporters at Ga Masemola improved services. He mainly touched on issues relating to housing, a clinic that operates for twenty-four hours and drug abuse by the youth amongst others.
“Housing is about restoration of dignity. It’s about your pride as a nation. You cannot be proud of these RDP houses.”
Malema says his party plans to bring positive changes at the Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality – by restoring the dignity of the previously marginalised.
He also spoke harshly against those who destroy public property during protests. He has cautioned people, citing Vuwani, to refrain from destroying schools and clinics.
The area suffers from poor service delivery including a lack of water, residents have pleaded with Malema to help. “EFF to help, service delivery, like water, everything, like white people, white people live a better life, what about black people, so Malema please assist.”
The party hopes to take the majority of the votes in the upcoming local government elections on August 3.
