The National Freedom Party (NFP) has deployed its leadership at Vryheid in northern KwaZulu-Natal to drum up support ahead of local government elections.
NFP chairperson Maliyakhe Shelembe says hundreds of party members have been distributing party pamphlets and t-shirts to draw in supporters.
Shelembe says party leader Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi will address the launch of the manifesto in the area at the weekend.
“As you know that on June 18 the NFP will be launching [its] manifesto in Vryheid as you can hear the noise outside here. I’m here in Vryheid with senior leaders where we are mobilising people to go [attend our manifesto] launch. They are saying they cannot afford to wait anymore. They want to see KaMagwaza-Msibi and the manifesto being launched. They want to go out in numbers to mobilise people,” says Shelembe.
