ANC out of touch with people: EFF

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) says the African National Congress (ANC) has lost touch with communities and this strengthens their chance to win most wards in August 3 municipal elections in the Tshwane Metro.

EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi addressed a series of meetings in Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria. He says residents are lacking essential services which he attributes to corrupt ANC councillors.

Ndlozi says they are determined to give the ruling party a run for their money. “There’s a big issues of land in Hammanskraal yet [the] whole area is surrounded by big farms that are doing nothing. At the cemeteries they burry people on top of another, they live in congested areas and burry in congested areas.”

He adds, “There’s a big problem of unemployment. The Expanded Public Works Programmes (EPWP) is corrupt. Lot of young people are on drugs are not working, there’s a big issue of housing, houses are small. When they [RDP houses] coming out they are given to other people, relatives and friends of the councillors and in some cases they want bribes.”
