ANC confident of retaining Gauteng metros: Mashatile

African National Congress Gauteng Chairperson, Paul Mashatile, says he is confident that the party will retain control of all Gauteng metros during the August 3 municipal polls.

This comes as the ANC Gauteng’s quest to fill the 94 000 capacity FNB Stadium in Soweto will be put to the test during the launch of the party’s provincial local government election manifesto.

Security at the venue is tight, while there are still a lot of empty seats.

The ANC’s top brass, including hundreds of the party’s rank and file, are making their way to the iconic stadium.

President Jacob Zuma and Mashatile will deliver keynote addresses.
