Some people are power hungry: ANC

The African National Congress (ANC) says there is an uncontrollable desire by certain members for power.

About 200 protesters expressed unhappiness with the party’s selection procedure for councillor candidates, for the August 3 polls.

ANC members from different branches in Gauteng are reported to have gone to Luthuli House to protest, while others from Ekurhuleni are reported to have marched to Walter Sisulu House.

The ruling party submitted the names of its candidates Councillors to the Independent Electoral Commission.

Speaking on AM Live, ANC National Spokesperson Zizi Kodwa says some people think only they can be leaders and nobody else.

“There is a growing phenomenon of people who think only they can be leaders and no one else, they go to an extent that they can march to Luthuli House and yet when you are a leader you have to accept there is a time to lead, a time to be led and a time to be a follower.”
