SACP commends SABC ban on violent visuals

The South African Communist Party (SACP) has praised the SABC’s decision to ban visuals showing destructive service delivery protests.

The party’s Provincial General Secretary made comments in Boksburg, eastern Johannesburg, on the side lines of the launch of the election program to support the African National Congress.

As the local government elections draw nearer, the country has seen a surge of service delivery protest where there has been burning of property.

The SACP also admitted that Gauteng will be a hotly contested province in the upcoming local government elections, adding that it is already deploying party members to canvass support for the ANC.
