ACDP proposes laws to regulate spaza shops

The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) wants to pass by -laws to stop spaza shop owners from sleeping inside the food shops.

ACDP Leader Kenneth Meshoe launched the party’s local government election manifesto in Thokoza in Ekurhuleni.

Meshoe says more health inspectors should be hired to monitor small businesses trading in food to ensure they operate in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations.

If you say away with corruption, select leaders who fear God

“We have traders sleeping and washing in food stores, it is unhygienic. You never see mattresses in those stores, what do they sleep on ? bags of mealie meal?”

He also says, “There will be increase in support because there is no longer floor crossing and disillusioned people see us as option.”

Meshoe says, “If you say away with corruption, select leaders who fear God. We offer councillors who are caring and passionate to deliver.”
