AIC welcomes former ANC/APC members in Free State

The African Independent Congress (AIC) has welcomed 30 new members to its fold.

These members are mainly from the African National Congress (ANC) and African People’s Convention (APC).

The AIC was formed in December 2005 by disgruntled ANC members. They wanted Matatiele to remain in KwaZulu-Natal.

The Eastern Cape-based party is making inroads in the Free State.

With three seats in the National Assembly, the AIC is buoyed by Free State support base.

The AIC has representatives in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal legislatures.

The party plans to officially launch its municipal election manifesto by no later than June.
