African National Congress (ANC) president Jacob Zuma says it is only the ANC that has the interest of South Africa’s poor and marginalised at heart.
Zuma maintains that the ANC has shown its capabilities in reversing the injustices of apartheid by creating a better life for all. He was addressing thousands of ANC members in Taung, North West, where the party launched its provincial manifesto ahead of the municipal elections.
The ruling party reminded members of its achievements and its response to the challenges of service delivery in municipalities.
President Zuma maintains that under the leadership of the ANC massive developmental projects have been carried-out in providing services to previously disadvantaged communities.
However, the President said the slow economic growth is having an adverse effect in the creation of employment and fighting poverty particularly in rural and impoverished communities.
The ANC in the North West says it is confident it will retain all municipalities’ during the forthcoming and much anticipated local government elections.
