Mkhize laments logistic challenges at ANC manifesto

Treasurer-General of African National Congress Zweli Mkhize says the manifesto launch was well attended by the ANC members.

However he says logistic challenges were experienced as other members were not able to attend the parties manifesto.

This follows Nomvula Mokonyane utterances saying heads will roll following a disappointing showing at the party’s local government elections manifesto launch in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

It was reported that seats stood empty as President Jacob Zuma addressed the party’s faithful at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium, where over a hundred thousand people were expected to attend.

Mkhize says discussion will continue in the internal structures of the ANC to clarify challenges experienced in Port Elizabeth.

Mkhize also emphasises that in the ANC structures they need communities that stand firm to basic rules that identify problems with their leaders.

He adds that the ANC recognise community concerned towards councillor’s level of accountability.
