NFP official survives shooting

The Chairperson of the National Freedom Party in KwaZulu-Natal,Vikizitha Mlotshwa, has survived an ambush at his Bergville home.

Police are investigating a case of attempted murder after Mlotshwa’s car came under heavy gunfire as he approached his house late on Friday night.

Vikizitha Mlotshwa has survived more than five assassination attempts since 2001.

Police investigations in previous attempts yielded no results.

Mlotshwa was expected to attend the NFP’s national working committee meeting in Durban on Saturday with a view to iron out problems that face the party since party leader Zanele KaMagwaza Msibi took ill in November 2014.
