The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal says its Gauteng counterpart should have voiced its views internally following the Constitutional Court judgment on Nkandla.
The ANC in Gauteng says it will engage party branches and alliance partners on whether President Jacob Zuma should resign or face sanctions in the party’s internal structures.
ANC structures in the Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga, the Free State, KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo say they are all firmly behind Zuma.
Earlier, ANC Secretary-General Gwede Mantashe said the party’s national leadership would consider the recommendations of the Gauteng PEC and other provinces on the court judgment.
Speaking on AM Live, ANC KZN spokesperson Mdumiseni Ntuli says they are concerned about the divisions amongst the provinces ahead the Local Government Elections.
Ntuli says Gauteng should be focusing on winning Johannesburg and Tshwane to ensure they close ranks, consolidate the unity and win elections.
