ANC NEC speak out against disgruntled members

The African National Congress (ANC) National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting entered its second day, with leaders speaking out against disgruntled party members.

The meeting was riddled with dissenting voices from party members who picketed outside the Irene venue in Centurion, Pretoria.

A small group of disgruntled former ANC Youth League (ANCYL) members voiced their dissatisfaction with the leadership of the governing party.

Former ANCYL leader, Ronald Lamola says: “We believe is enough is enough. There have been a lot of scandals. We have been moving from one disaster to the other. It’s enough as a country…”

Earlier, ANC Secretary-General Gwede Mantashe dismissed their planned picket as a non-event.

The ANC Women’s League (ANCWL) added their voice to the current debate afflicting the ruling the party and spoke out against those raising their grievances in public.

ANCWL President Bathabile Dlamini also reminded her party leadership that no one was clean.

“All of us there in the NEC have our smaller skeletons and we don’t want to take out all skeletons out because hell will break loose.”

The ANC NEC meeting is expected to end on Sunday.
