Zuma defended the Gupta’s: Holomisa

United Democratic Movement leader Bantu Holomisa says President Jacob Zuma has shown utter arrogance and denial in defence of the Gupta family. He says President Zuma did not answer questions properly regarding the Gupta saga.

The Gupta family allegedly offered Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas and former African National Congress (ANC) Member of Parliament (MP), Vytjie Mentor ministerial posts.

SAfm’s PM Live interviewed Bantu Holomisa and Inkatha Freedom Party MP, Mkhuleko Hlengwa and asked them if President Zuma ultimately answered the questions posed at him in parliament on Thursday.

Holomisa says, “The president did not answer he said that he has nothing to do with the revelations made by the deputy minister.”

Holomisa says Zuma has ganged up with the Gupta family against the deputy minister who took an oath of office and has given an embarrassing answer to the questions.

Meanwhile, Hlengwa says it is very difficult to follow what the President says at times because it always punctuated with laughter and jokes.

He says, “The seriousness in which he subscribes to these questions at times is questionable. Today has been one of those days, him avoiding questions.”

However, he says the biggest concern for IFP is the promises he made last year in the State of the Nation Address particularly around the issue of student funding in tertiary institutions.
