Poverty alleviation to top ANC Polokwane summit agenda

The African National Congress (ANC) is hosting its alliance summit at a private lodge in Polokwane.

Deputy PresidentCyril Ramaphosa, Secretary-General Gwede Mantashe and National Chairperson Baleka Mbethe are attending the summit.

Some of the key issues to be discussed include the state of the economy, poverty alleviation as well as the local government elections.

ANC nominations at branch and regional levels have been disrupted in some parts of Limpopo.

“We are aware that because of this process of nominations there are those who want to be nominated at all costs, and we have sent a communiqué to all our regions and branches that anybody who tries to disrupt an ANC meeting must to taken to task in terms of the disciplinary process. We have sent our deployees to those regions and we will await their reports,” says Provincial Secretary-Genereal Knocks Seabi.
