The Pan African Congress (PAC) faction led by Letlapa Mphahlele believes unity between warring factions will be important ahead of local government elections.
The faction held a Unity Conference in Botshabelo, east of Bloemfontein, on Saturday, in an attempt to heal rifts within the party.
There have been on-going court battles between Mphahlele’s faction and that of Luthando Mbinda, the party’s sole representative in Parliament.
Mphahlele says they are ready to welcome Mbinda back into its fold.
“We are going beyond, this is because we know that local government elections are around the corner and as the PAC we must be ready even if we have issues to iron out with the IEC but we don’t want to be caught unaware,” says Mphahlele.
