DA welcomes new members in Mpumalanga

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Mpumalanga has welcomed about a 100 new members in Lydenburg believed to be from the African National Congress (ANC).

The provincial DA leader James Masango welcomed the members in Mashishing.

The defectors accuse the ANC leadership of neglecting the communities among others.

The DA in Mpumalanga believes it has made some political inroads in Mashishing, a town plagued by service delivery challenges.

The municipality is among municipalities in the country that owe Eskom billions of rands.

The DA wants to take control of this municipality presently under the ANC rule.

The party plans to conduct door to door campaigns to drum up support ahead of the Local Government Elections (LGE 2016).

It’s urged it’s members to register to vote on the 5th and 6th March.

Meanwhile, the ANC in Mpumalanga has since wished the defectors well at their new political home.
