ANC distances itself from municipal procurement processes

The African National Congress in the Central Karoo has reiterated that it will not interfere with municipal procurement processes to the benefit of the party.
This follows the disciplinary process against Beaufort West Mayor, Truman Prince, last week.
Prince allegedly issued a letter which tried to influence the awarding of tenders to benefit the ANC. He has been fined R10 000 and has been ordered to apologise to national and provincial party structures.
“The content of the letter was unfortunate, that Truman wrote on behalf of the ANC because he was mandated by the ANC to
fundraise on behalf of the party… We view it in a serious light,” says ANC Central Karoo Regional Secretary, Windy Plaatjies.
