Truman Prince to remain with the ANC

Beaufort West Mayor, Truman Prince, will remain with the African National Congress.

This follows a disciplinary hearing after he allegedly issued letters that tenders be given to businesses aligned to the party.

The ANC’s Central Karoo Secretary, Windy Plaatjies, says Prince’s alleged assault of a female traffic officer was not part of the hearing.

He says Prince plea-bargained with the committee.

“They have decided he must apologize to the community publicly, to the ANC itself, the organization, on what he said around the ANC, the President and must withdraw the letter written to CETA,” says Plaatjies.

Plaatjies adds all of these must happen with immediate effect and that they have also sanctioned Prince with a fine.
