APC commemorates Robert Sobukwe

The African People’s Convention (APC) has called on political leaders and the young generation to take a leaf from late struggle hero Robert Sobukwe’s book.

The party on Saturday launched Sobukwe month at ga-Manyaka village outside Tubatse, Limpopo to commemorate the life of the struggle leader.

APC President Themba Godi says the party has planned various functions to commemorate Sobukwe throughout the country during the month of February. “We are going to use the whole of February as Sobukwe month; we have a number of services lined up right to the end of month in different parts of the country to ensure that the name and legacy of Sobukwe is not lost.”

“We believe as the APC that there is a lot to learn from him, a lot of guidance on how we as leaders conduct ourselves and how we serve our people.”

Sobukwe, who founded the Pan Africanist Congress, spent nine years in prison during apartheid.
