ANC to strengthen working relations with religious sector

The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal says it is committed to strengthening its working relations with the religious sector.

Provincial ANC leaders have met with leaders of the Roman Catholic Church in Marianhill, Durban.

ANC Provincial Chairperson Sihle Zikalala says they have agreed to work together on various issues.

“We took a decision that we must reassert the traditions of the ANC and one of those traditions is to work with the religious sector. We have come here to advance the programme of ensuring that we work with the religious sector,” says Zikalala.

He says the party is very happy that Bishop Pius Mlungisi Dlungwane has welcomed the ANC.

Zikalala adds that they have identified areas where they need to work together with in issues of promoting health, education and
social cohesion.
