DA billboard leaves bitter taste for ANC

The African National Congress (ANC) has lambasted the Democratic Alliance (DA) for what it says is an opportunistic move to use President Jacob Zuma in the billboard unveiled on Thursday.

DA leader Mmusi Maimane launched a billboard for local government in the Johannesburg City Centre. The DA’s is gearing up for the Local Government Elections (LGE 2016).

The party is tapping into technology to keep South Africans updated about unemployment.

DA leader Mmusi Maimane says: “South Africans are angry and they have every right to be angry because they are home and see their brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers joining them at home as the unemployed, this year’s 2016 we fight for nothing else but a chance to stand and bring change.”

The ANC, which is celebrating 104 years in Rustenburg, says it’s unfazed. However, it has strongly criticised Maimane, saying he is being used to vilify the ANC and its leader.
