ANC pulls out all the stops to win Nelson Mandela Bay

The African National Congress (ANC) is pulling out all the stops to win the much contested Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality.

Displaying its might in Nelson Mandela Bay, it held the region’s Siyanqoba rally at Dan Qeqe stadium, where thousands braved wet and chilly weather to attend the event.

ANC President Jacob Zuma delivered the key message. The Nelson Mandela Bay Metro has been the focus of attention as opposition want to wrestle control from the ANC.

The Metro – which bears the name of the SA’s first democratic president – is home to over one point two million people.

For the ruling party, it’s a treasure it cannot afford to lose. The ANC has flexed its muscle, showing that numbers are on its side.

The ANC has also expressed its confidence in its Mayoral Candidate Danny Jordaan who was installed a year ago.

He’s been credited with stabilising the municipality and rooting out corruption within a short space of time. And if voted into office on August 3rd, Jordaan vows to change the lives of over 1.2 million in this region.
