Police have fired teargas in an attempt to disperse a group of angry residents after unrest flared up again at Sicelo Informal Settlement in Meyerton in Midvaal, south of Johannesburg.
Residents are protesting over poor service delivery in their area.
Disgruntled residents of Sicelo Informal Settlement accuse the Midvaal Mayor, Bongani Baloyi, of neglecting townships and focusing only on urban areas.
They say they’ve had enough with Baloyi.
They are demanding more RDP houses, electricity, water and better roads.
Residents have been protesting since Monday demanding to be addressed by the Mayor.
The situation is very tense in the area.
Police are stationed at various points around the informal settlement but residents are not backing down.
