Khoisan party complains about “fraud” in registration process

Members of the Khoisan Revolution, a new political party for the San community in the Northern Cape are marching to the Upington Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) offices to raise concern about incidents they say took place during the voters’ registration weekend.

The leader of the party, Stanley Pieterse, alleges that party agents from the African National Congress defrauded the registration process by giving false addresses for residents living in squatter camps that are without residential addresses.

Pieterse says when they complained about the matter, police stormed into the registration centre, manhandled them and dragged them out of the centre.
