Eligible voters urged to register for upcoming elections

Free State Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Patricia Kopane has encouraged residents to register to vote in the August local government elections.

Kopane is in Botshabelo, east of Bloemfontein, where she led a door-to-door drive for the party.

She says it is through votes that South Africa can change for the better.

“It’s important to register so that you can vote, because when you vote you choose the party or the people that will work or they will serve your interest. What is important … South African people don’t have jobs, they are unemployed. You hear every day in the news about corruption, that is even worse it involves our own State President [Jacob Zuma]. For South African people, take the opportunity and register because through your vote you can enable South Africa to change – change for work, change for service delivery and change to fight corruption,” says Kopane.

Final Registration Weekend 9-10 April. Register/check your address for #2016MunicipalElections. Dial *120*432# — IEC South Africa (@IECSouthAfrica) March 31, 2016
