Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema is expected to kick-start his Limpopo leg of the party’s election campaign at Tshikota in Louis Trichardt on Friday evening. He will interact with residents at the local town hall and meet councillor candidates.
Malema will campaign in Limpopo from Friday night until Sunday.
He will address supporters in Tshikota and move to Lenyenye in Tzaneen later on Friday night.
On Saturday, he will be in Sekhukhune to meet councillor candidates and hold a community meeting at Apel.
Malema will wrap up his campaign on Sunday in Thabazimbi, a municipality that is governed by a coalition made up of the EFF, DA and Thabazimbi Residents Association. The coalition took over running of the municipality after the 2016 local government elections.

During the party’s manifesto launch last weekend, Malema said his party aims to run all municipalities and prioritise basic services to residents across the country. The EFF launched its local government Elections manifesto at Gandhi Square in the Johannesburg CBD.
He said corruption has deprived residents of basic services. Malema said rural areas have been neglected.
“EFF municipalities will not stand by and do nothing about sanitation and toilets in schools because education in schools are functions of national and provincial level. There will never be pit-toilets in schools that fall under an EFF municipality. This manifesto we present to you today is a product of several consultations and engagements with different sectors of society,” Malema said.
