Deputy Secretary-General of the African National Congress (ANC) Nomvula Mokonyane says the objective of the international policy retreat this weekend at Ekurhuleni on Gauteng’s East Rand was to analyse policy and empower its work in that sphere.
Mokonyane says this is the first retreat of its kind since the general elections.
She says the retreat assessed issues pertaining to multilateralism.

It is also post the 30 years of democracy evaluation and it is post the strategic setback of the ANC in terms of our electoral fortune. This is a mandated session that comes from the Lekgotla of the ANC national executive committee.â€
