Tshepo Johannes Mogano made history as the first independent candidate in Gauteng to qualify for placement on the ballot paper on May 29, 2024.
Mogano says his advocacy aims to encourage individuals to reconsider their support for political parties in future elections. He says he believes that political parties have failed to deliver meaningful change and instead often operate as insular entities led by individuals.
