{"id":964225,"date":"2024-07-04T04:44:38","date_gmt":"2024-07-04T04:44:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/dm-simulator-v2\/?p=964225"},"modified":"2024-07-04T04:44:38","modified_gmt":"2024-07-04T04:44:38","slug":"gautengs-roads-and-transport-mec-prioritises-ending-taxi-violence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elections.sabc.co.za\/elections2024\/gautengs-roads-and-transport-mec-prioritises-ending-taxi-violence\/","title":{"rendered":"Gauteng&#8217;s Roads and Transport MEC prioritises ending taxi violence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Roads and Transport MEC Kedibone Diale-Tlabela says ending taxi violence will be a priority for the 7th administration.<\/p>\n<p>Diale-Tlabela was sworn in as MEC last night.<\/p>\n<p>Gauteng has seen a series of violent taxi-related attacks between warring taxi associations, which have claimed many lives, including innocent passengers.<\/p>\n<p>In Soweto, there is an ongoing feud between the Witwatersrand Taxi Association (WATA) and the Nancefield Dube West Association (NANDUWE).<\/p>\n<p>Diale-Tlabela says that the provincial government will also work on expanding the rail system into neighbouring provinces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is still a whole lot of work. You have seen us in the past 20 months working hard to complete the incomplete infrastructure projects, and there is still a lot to do.
