{"id":964512,"date":"2024-07-06T10:41:02","date_gmt":"2024-07-06T10:41:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/dm-simulator-v2\/?p=964512"},"modified":"2024-07-06T10:41:02","modified_gmt":"2024-07-06T10:41:02","slug":"f-state-hawks-make-arrests-for-kidnapping-fraud-data-cloning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elections.sabc.co.za\/elections2024\/f-state-hawks-make-arrests-for-kidnapping-fraud-data-cloning\/","title":{"rendered":"F State Hawks make arrests for kidnapping, fraud, data cloning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three men will apply for bail in the Parys Magistrate&#8217;s Court in the Free State next week Friday after they were arrested for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sabcnews.com\/sabcnews\/police-rescue-second-portuguese-businessman-kidnapped-in-soweto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kidnapping<\/a> and fraud.<\/p>\n<p>They allegedly kidnapped an administration clerk who works for the traffic department in Parys.<\/p>\n<p>They took him to a location in Sasolburg where they allegedly forced him to perform transactions totalling R 8 million using his fingerprint on the traffic department&#8217;s biometric system.<\/p>\n<p>Free State Hawks Spokesperson, Zweli Mohobeleli says the fraudulent transactions were for the licensing of vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Mohobeleli says it is not yet known how the suspects accessed the software.<\/p>\n<p>Four cellphones and cash were seized.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-media-max-width=\"560\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/sapsHAWKS?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#sapsHAWKS<\/a> Three suspects aged 31, 35, and 46 will appear in the Parys Magistrates Court on 5 July 2024 on allegations of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/kidnapping?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#kidnapping<\/a> and fraud. They were arrested in Sasolburg on 3 July 2024 by members of the Hawks and Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC).
