The City of Cape Town authorities say the Disaster Coordinating Team is being activated to deal with adverse weather conditions being predicted.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Weather Service issued an orange level six warning.<\/p>\n

Heavy rainfall, damaging winds and snow can be expected from tomorrow until next week.<\/p>\n

Disaster Risk Management Spokesperson Charlotte Powell says the Coastal Management Department has also advised that wave action may impact the coastline along Sea Point and Milnerton.<\/p>\n

She says the public should stay steer clear of the coastal areas.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe disaster risk management volunteers will be mobilised to assist affected communities and numerous city services have crews on standby to deal with impacts. Our NGO partners are ready to assist with humanitarian relief efforts and we have also collaborated with community leaders and religious bodies for shelter where required.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c The city’s disaster risk management centre is also working closely with its provincial counterparts and the National Human Settlements Department to ensure support during this time,\u201d adds Powell.<\/p>\n
