{"id":964605,"date":"2024-07-07T06:54:16","date_gmt":"2024-07-07T06:54:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/dm-simulator-v2\/?p=964605"},"modified":"2024-07-07T06:54:16","modified_gmt":"2024-07-07T06:54:16","slug":"man-shot-dead-in-khayelitsha","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elections.sabc.co.za\/elections2024\/man-shot-dead-in-khayelitsha\/","title":{"rendered":"Man shot dead in Khayelitsha"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sabcnews.com\/sabcnews\/shooting-ctn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shot and killed<\/a> and a woman wounded in Khayelitsha on the Cape Flats.<\/p>\n<p>Western Cape police spokesperson, Joseph Swartbooi says officers deployed to the area to combat the ongoing gang violence, were busy with stop and search operations in Site C when they heard gun shots.<\/p>\n<p>A man was gunned down, and a woman who was wounded was transported to hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Swartbooi says a suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in court this week.<\/p>\n<p>He says, &#8220;They followed up on the information at their disposal and apprehended a 32-year-old who fit the description, searched him and confiscated a licensed 9mm pistol with ammunition and drugs.
